This fragment is a rare example of early yūzen dyeing. For the most part, it resembles the shibori-dyed and embroidered pieces on the opposite wall. Careful inspection, however, reveals that each blue bamboo leaf has in its center a thin white line, a hallmark of yūzen dyeing caused by thin lines of resist paste that are applied to the cloth before brush-dyeing.
