Necklace with Pendant — Tiffany & Co.|Louis C. Tiffany

Tiffany made a series of jewelry designs composed of moonstones and sparkling Montana sapphires set in platinum. This necklace, one of the most elaborate extant examples, features moonstones of irregular size and shape interspersed with a design of twisted scrolls, each enclosing four tiny sapphires. The piece could be worn as one large elaborate necklace with pendant, as seen here, or it could be separated into discrete items and worn as a choker or a bracelet, with the pendant as an independent brooch. The piece was given to the Museum by Susan Dwight Bliss, a long-standing patron.
