Old prints have been reproduced since the Meiji era (1868–1912). Reputable modern publishers such as Adachi and Watanabe always include their name or seal on their prints. The seal of Watanabe is found in the stream near the lower right. This is a chromo-xylographic reproduction of the second state as it originally looked, with colors at full intensity. Notice how purple and blue have faded to a light brown in the 1768 print at right. The dark background, however, is a modern modification.
