Mount Fuji is shown without clouds, which were probably blown away by strong winds. Travelers along a meandering path on the Tōkaidō highway fight against the gusts, which are ripping papers from a pack and hats from their heads. The trees sway, and leaves dance in the sky. The frantic movements in the foreground contrast with the stillness of the mountain in the distance.
