This textile is said to have been found in the tomb of Prince Guo (1697–1738), the seventeenth son of the Kangxi emperor (r. 1662–1722). The centers of the flowers are brocaded in gold thread-strips of gilded paper wrapped around a silk core—for an opulent effect.
