絵志野秋草文額皿|Molded Dish with Autumn Grasses
Unknown
ca. 1600–15 · Stoneware with underglaze iron decoration (Mino ware, Shino style) · Asian Art

Iron oxide was painted directly onto the white stoneware body. The milky-white quality of the glaze is a result of its high feldspathic content and of the firing temperatures achieved in an ogama kiln.
