The bow fibula shares distinctive characteristics with numerous examples from the sanctuary of Zeus Thaulios near the ancient city of Pherai, in Thessaly. It is carefully crafted, with geometric engravings on the plaque and a pomegranate-like element on the end. The central bead’s cavity was probably once inlaid with amber or ivory. The weight and size of the pin made it impractical for everyday use, and it was likely created as a votive offering to a deity.
