Caster (one of a set of three) — Lewis Mettayer

Used for serving sugar, dry mustard, and pepper, sets of three casters were standard components of an eighteenth-century silver table setting. Like the dessert dishes above, this set was part of the large service made for Sir Paul Methuen’s embassy to Spain.
