Stenciled Folio — Unknown

This incomplete page has been fabricated by use of a stencil, which was used to form the outline of the undulating floral and vegetal motifs as well as the lively birds and quadrupeds delineated in reserve. Pages like this originally framed paintings, drawings or samples of calligraphy, which would have been included in an album. This part of the page exposed how folios from Islamic manuscripts and albums were built up with layers of paper.
