Eagle (one of a pair) — Meissen Manufactory

In 1730 Augustus the Strong sent a pair of porcelain eagles made in Japan to be copied by the Meissen manufactory. Although the modeler Kirchner has been credited for modeling the birds, it is more likely that they were copies of the Japanese versions.
