"Sacred to Bacchus" wine ewer — John Flaxman|Josiah Wedgwood and Sons

Known as the "Sacred to Bacchus" wine ewer, this piece was designed by John Flaxman, a sculptor who provided important models for the Wedgwood factory. This ornamental ewer forms a with the "Sacred to Neptune" water ewer, and was produced in a number of different clay bodies, including blue and white jasper.
