The Last Gasp, or Toadstools Mistaken for Mushrooms — Thomas Tegg|Thomas Rowlandson

The cobbler leans over his wife who is tied to a chair with her wrists bound. With his awl between his teeth he pulls at the threads with which he is stitching up her mouth. Another woman holds a candle over them at right.
