Venus of Urbino — Thomas Rowlandson|Titian (Tiziano Vecellio)

Around 1799, Rowlandson etched a series of works after Italian masters, often centered on nude figures. The present example is based on Titian's famous painting (Uffizi Gallery), where Venus rests naked on a bed, holding roses, as a puppy sleeps near her feet, and two women in the background take clothes from a chest.
