High Hopes — Joseph Goldyne

Flowers play a particularly important role in Goldyne's oeuvre; they have been a consistent subject he has engaged in a variety of forms and techniques. One of the techniques he has used is that of the monotype. In Goldyne's hands, the depiction of flowers becomes a poetic interpretation of this traditional subject. In his renderings, he makes reference to the history of floral imagery, in particular, in Northern European art, while also rendering them firmly contemporary.
