Each illustration is accompanied by a related description on the back of the card. Translation of description on verso: The English submarine, E-9, drowning the first-class German battleship, Pommern, in the Baltic Sea. During the tragic moment when the Pommern was sinking, the British submarine managed to escape from the radius of enemy gunfire.
