late 1st century BCE–early 1st century CE · Glass · Greek and Roman Art

Translucent blue green, opaque red, white, and yellow. Broad, outsplayed rim, with rounded but uneven lip, sloping obliquely inward; recessed shallow ledge between rim and side, perhaps from modern polishing; slightly convex curving side, tapering downward. Mosaic pattern formed from large sections of a single cane in a blue green ground with multiple rods in red mixed with white and a central yellow rod. Polished exterior; pitting of surface bubbles on exterior; dulling, slight pitting and weathering on interior; weathering on jagged edges.
