This broadsheet reports on the beheading of eleven-year-old María Sánchez in Saltillo (Coahuila) on April 16, 1902. An account of the crime—that continues on the back of the sheet—is fast-moving and sensational. Tomás, a barber, had returned home from church to find his daughter decapitated. A suspect was identified, but Tomás ultimately confessed to this and another "unspeakable crime." His culpability is announced in the headline and, to add veracity to the account, a large mainstream newspaper is cited as the source.
