Costumes Parisiens 138: Robe de satin pékiné à volants de nansouk — André Stéfan|Vaugirard

Illustration with a design for a "Pékiné" satin gown with flounces, part of the 61st issue of the "Journal des dames et des modes", published in Paris on February 1, 1914. The illustration features a woman wearing a dark blue satin gown with vertical golden-yellow stripes, composed of a peplum jacket and a narrow skirt, both with cream nansouk (light cotton fabric) ruffled borders; the neck and cuffs of the jackets are also made up of cream nansouk ruffles. She wears a small, white hat with dark blue and golden-yellow scalloped borders, a black bow with a yellow scrolling feather in the front, and light yellow gloves in her hands. Her jacket is tied around the waist by a black belt with hanging yellow tassels, and her feet are adorned by tiny black high heels with yellow ruffled borders. Her face is heavily covered with makeup: blue eyeshadow, thick, black eyelashes, pink blush on her cheeks and rouge on her lips. She stands on a park promenade, in front of green bushes and brown trees.
