Untitled — Katsukawa Shunzan

This triptych illustrates a summer festival by the Sumida River. The lady sitting on the bench at the right is cooling herself with an uchiwa fan emblazoned with a bold design of Danjūrō's crest. Shunzan first studied with Shunshō and later painted beauties in the style of Kiyonaga as seen here.
