In addition to satire and humor, Posada created engravings for other purposes. Our Lady of Solitude was widely venerated in Mexico. Broadsides that incorporated an image, a prayer, or a description of a miracle associated with her were printed in the thousands. On the back of this print is a long text describing a miracle that took place in Saltillo (Coahuila), where the Virgin saved a young man from starvation. Posada originally created the plate for this image in the early 1890s; his plates were reprinted again and again. Además de practicar la sátira y el humor, Posada creó grabados destinados a otros fines. Nuestra Señora de la Soledad era muy venerada en México, y los volantes que incluían una imagen suya, una oración o la descripción de un milagro relacionado con ella se imprimían por miles. En el reverso de este grabado aparece un largo texto en el que se refiere un milagro acaecido en Saltillo (Coahuila), donde la Virgen salvó a un joven de morir de inanición. Esta plancha fue creada por Posada a principios de la década de 1890. Sus planchas se reimprimían una y otra vez.
