See comment for 1993.1133.1–85. Supporters of the Mexican revolutionary hero Emiliano Zapata were known as Zapatistas. The events shown in this print took place in the state of Morelos in 1911, when the military led by Victoriano Huerta burned the vil-lages of Zapata’s followers.
