Rectangular sheet of paper with a textile design from a group, dated 1840, made in Mulhouse, Alsace, which was an important nineteenth-century center for textile production in the Haut-Rhin region of France. The design is made up of vertical rows of bunches of stylized flowers and stems with leaves of red color with white outlines framed by a shade of thorns of light tan color with offsets in tan color, separated by vertical garlands of branches of light tan color and offsets of tan color with an undulating ribbon with pearls and small stylized flowers of white color inside a circular frame, connected by horizontal undulating garlands of branches of light tan color with offsetting branches of tan color, over a dark reddish-brown ground.
