Originally published by Giovanni Andrea Vavassore, Italian, active 16th century, Venice, designed by Florio Vavassore (Giovanni's brother), Italian, active 16th century. Reiussed by Macmillan & Co., British, London and New York. From top to bottom, and left to right: Title page is composed of a central square containing title printed in black ("ESEMPLA") and red (the rest of the title). Title is framed by a border made up of 6 different scenes, each depicting men and women carrying out the various processes of producing textiles. At the lower edge of the bottom border is the title page designer's signature: "fiorio Vavasore fecit".
