The Internment of Mary, Queen of Scots — Mary, Queen of Scots|John Francis Rigaud|Antonio Zecchin|Antonio Suntach

This print reproduces one of a set of designs commissioned from Rigaud in 1789 by the 4th Early of Abingdon to complement a musical piece he had written on Mary's final hours and death. Rigaud's drawing for the print was exhibited at the Royal Academy, London in 1791 and is now unlocated. Zecchin's prints of the series were aimed at the French market, while the English artist William Gardiner produced his own prints of this series for British audiences.
