This is a particular type of scarab, showing a small scarab seated on the top of the seal-amulet’s back, its finely hatched legs proportionally much larger than in nature. This type of scarab is characteristic for the Ramesside Period (Dynasty 19-20, ca. 1295-1070 B.C.). Its base is inscribed with hieroglyphs that may possibly form an inscription expressing a New Year’s wish.
