Statuette of a Scribe — Unknown

This statuette depicts a seated scribe with a scroll of papyrus across his lap. His kilt is drawn tightly around his knees to create a flat surface on which to write. He would have held a reed brush in his right hand and would have unrolled the papyrus with his left hand. The deep wrinkles across his chest indicate that he is no longer a young man.
