Technical description: Mahogany veneer case painted with classical scenes including the Judgment of Paris on the center of the top lid panel. The smaller panel in the center of the front of the lid contains a painted scene of a reclining Venus with two cupids, in grisaille within border of painted beads; top, four sides, legs, and shelf painted with ornamental designs of rinceaux, laurel garlands, scrolls of graduated beads, medallions with figures, heads or trophies, borders of ribbon and flower, anthemion and classical lamp motives or husks, chiefly in green, brownish red, cream, tan, brown, and gray with accents of white and crimson. Sixty-eight keys (FF-c4) with ivory naturals and ebony accidentals. English single action mechanism with no escapement.
