François Nicolas Voirin learned the craft of bow making in Mirecourt, France. In 1855, he moved to Paris where he joined the workshop of his cousin, Jean Baptiste Vuillaume. In 1870, Voirin established his own atelier. This bow was used by the renowned soloist Samuel Dushkin (1891–1976). Description: Round pernambuco stick with silver and reptile skin wrapping, ivory-faced tip, metal shimmed ebony frog with pearl dots and inlay and silver ferrule, octagonal silver and ebony button, white hair.
