Cornet in B-flat — John Augustus Köhler

Three disc valves with piston action, developed around 1847-49. The bore largely corresponds to that of a trumpet, but in England, such types played with a funnel-shaped mouthpiece bore were usually called cornets. The type of mouthpiece contributes much to the cornetlike character of the sound.
