Violin Case — Unknown

Description: Rectangular walnut box with deep hinged lid, red-padded interior fitted to receive one violin, one bow, and accessories in a compartment at the left side; exterior of box mounted with carved wood representations of leather bands and tacks at the ends, two leather belts and buckles surrounding the top and front and back of the case, these belts holding another belt serving as a handle, and a belt and flap on the front concealing a lock--all these fittings cleverly and realistically carved; interior fittings lightly incised and gilded.
