Technical description: Fruitwood (?) with horn ferrules and brass keywork. Six pieces: Mouthpiece, barrel, upper section, middle section for the fingers of the right hand, lower section with keys, bell. Rough long-tenon mouthpiece. Barrel does not have sockets; bore of barrel rough. No speaker liner. Square turned wooden rings are German style, 18th century. So is the mounting of the E3/B♮4 flap. F♯3/C♯5 guided in a square ring. SATK. Very small, crude, and rather unfinished bore. Levers for L4, tone-hole and key for R4 mounted in a fusiform swelling. L0: T; speaker. L1: T; throat A♮. L2: T. L3: T. L4: E3/B♮4; F♯3/C♯5. R1: T. R2: T. R3: T. R4: T. Keyhead type: flat square. Keymount type: needle pins in turned wooden rings and swelling. No inscriptions. Bore not round, very crude, not been executed professionally. The horn ferrules are not symmetrically. Bell cracked. The construction of the instrument is crude and was possibly made by an amateur. Speaker key had been repaired. F♯3/C♯5 lever is a replacement. (Heike Fricke, 2014)
