This fiddle, introduced from China in the 12th century, joined Korean court and folk ensembles. Frontal pegs, incurved neck, and the bow hair passing between the strings are typical features. The bridge can be moved to alter tone quality. A cloth often hides the movement of the fingers. The other has a string holder in the shape of a frog, a symbol of good luck and fertility.
