"Gyre" lounge chair
Zaha Hadid|Established & Sons
2006 · Polyester resin and polyurethane lacquer · Modern and Contemporary Art

Pritzker prize winning architect Zaha Hadid was best known for her unconventional buildings that seem to defy logic of construction. Until this series of designs for Established and Sons, London, the only interior furnishings she designed were either experimental or designed specifically for her buildings. The Gyre design for a lounge chair tests the boundaries in materials and processes just as Hadid's buildings do.
