Nadica
René-Jules Lalique
1930 · Glass · Modern and Contemporary Art

This vase is decorated with intertwined pairs of naiads—nymphs from Greek mythology who resided in, and were associated with, fresh water: streams, springs, wells, and fountains. The combination of classical iconography and bold form typifies much French Art Deco of the 1930s.
