This lamp comprises a translucent alabaster shade raised on a high gilt-bronze tripod base. The attenuated legs (open on the inside), one of which houses the electrical cord, taper inward toward the shallow domed foot. The shade rests on a heavy reeded collar that houses the bulb socket. When the bulb is illuminated, the mottled alabaster casts a warm outward ambient glow, while brighter, more focused light is directed upward.
