近代 林風眠 裸女 軸|Seated Woman
Lin Fengmian
early 1960s · Hanging scroll; ink and color on paper · Asian Art

Lin Fengmian's debt to Matisse is clear in this work. His reasons for finding Matisse so compelling lay in his training in the principles of Chinese art: economy of line, decorative value of pattern, and use of empty space as form. Lin produced this work after 1977, when he was living in Hong Kong.
