Saint Sebastian (recto); sketches of a male head and a standing figure in a short cape; a copy of the figure on the recto (verso) — Sodoma (Giovanni Antonio Bazzi)

This sheet may have served as a preparatory study for the figure of Saint Sebastian in a painting, God the Father and Saints, in the church of San Domenico, Siena. In the painting, the serpentine figure of Saint Sebastian is similarly posed with his arms bound to a tree. Both works may be attributed to a follower of the Sienese artist Sodoma.
