400 Faces — Ahmad Morshedloo

This drawing depicts a mass of female faces, some veiled in a black chador. Interspersed amidst many are broken dolls, which give the scene a foreboding touch. The piece comes from Morshedloo’s direct experience and observations of daily life in Iran. The sincerity of each gaze creates a compelling picture of those who comprise the everyday populace.
