Textile Fragment — Unknown

This rectangular fragment of a silk textile is designed with multiple horizontal bands of varying widths and colours. A solid band of red color separates two bands of multiple thin borders; herring-bone, fishnet, and checkered patterns, in black and beige. Silks of similar style and date have been excavated in Egypt and striped textiles, such as this example, seem to have been immensely popular amongst the Mamluks.
