Hexagonal tiles such as this one- decorated in a black scrolling arabesque underneath a green glaze- belong to a number of international museum collections. Such pieces were produced in Iran, and a group of very similar tiles remain in situ, in the tomb chamber of the Masjid-i Shah at Mashhad, Iran.
