In addition to the standard-grade carpet with sheep's-wool pile and cotton foundation and the fine-weave type featuring pashmina pile on silk foundation, there is what might be termed an intermediate grade, which resembles the standard type but has second wefts (of every set of three) of red silk and a somewhat finer knot count. Many of the non-pashmina flower rugs belong to this category.
