Loom Weight or Vessel
Unknown
10th–11th century · Glass; free blown · Islamic Art

With its conical shape, narrow neck and flat lip, this vessel resembles a loom weight. The iridescence that now makes it more conspicuous is actually the result of moisture weathering its surface during centuries of burial.
