Vase
Unknown
7th–8th century · High-tin bronze; hammered · Islamic Art

The unusually high tin content in this bronze vessel made it especially difficult to make. Worked at very high temperatures, the material was hammered into shape. Vessels with a high tin content are relatively rare and are identifiable by the grayish black patina that forms on their surface.
