This large, deep serving dish is decorated with floral sprays and blossoms that are more spontaneous and playful than the imagery used in early sixteenth-century blue-and-white wares. The cavetto design is again based on a Chinese porcelain motif, but the familiar "wave and rock" rim pattern is replaced by a ring of schematic blossoms and leaves.
