Woman Holding Fruit — Unknown

Wall paintings adorned the 17th century palaces and villas of Isfahan on both interior and exterior walls. Female figures with plunging necklines were adapted from European paintings and prints. Probably this figure would have been part of a decorative program featuring images of Persians and Europeans in landscape, indicated here by two cypress trees in the upper right.
