These fragments belong to the same textile panel (38.112.1a-c). They depict a repeating scene of a Safavid man, identifiable by his distinctive turban, being served by a kneeling servant amidst a blossoming landscape. Such figural designs were fairly common in Safavid silks and perhaps reflected the lifestyle of the elite in sixteenth century Iran. The shape of the fragments indicate that they were probably cut to be stitched into a garment.
