This cup combines silver with exotic wood, turquoise, and mother-of-pearl to striking and original effect. Described in Tiffany’s records as a “love cup,” it was designed for display at the World’s Columbian Exposition. The shape references Viking objects, while the ornament draws on a variety of foreign and domestic design sources.
