This stonepaste tile likely from the Ilkhanid summer palace of Takht-i Sulaiman contains a scene from the Shahnama. Possibly depicting the story of Bahram Gur returning to India with his bride, its main field bears a rider seated in a howda (carriage) on an elephant’s back, escorted by two haloed figures. The inscription along the bottom is illegible.
