Buckle Shank

This is a buckle shank, part of an ornate belt buckle. It has sunk panels decorated with scrolls and leaves resembling bird or animal heads. It is fitted with two rings at one end for a buckle loop; five rings on the back, three of which are broken. The cast copper alloy is possibly tinned. The spring or pin is missing.
