View of the Fountain of the Four Rivers on Piazza Navona in Rome, designed by Bernini and erected in 1651. The fountain is characterized by the personifications of the four rivers Danube (Europe), Nile (Africa), Ganges (Asia) and Rio de la Plata (America) placed on the rocky base of a large obelisk. The print shows the fountain at an angle with the male personification of the Rio della Plata in the center.
